Some viewers felt uncomfortable watching Arya Stark lose her virginity, but not as much as Williams

Maisie Williams has shared her response to her character’s sex scene in the latest episode of Game Of Thrones.

In the second episode of the eighth and final series, which aired on Sunday (April 21), Williams’ Arya Stark was seen losing her virginity to Gendry (played by Joe Dempsie).

Fans had a lot to say about the scene, with some finding it uncomfortable, having watched Arya grow up in the show. Williams acknowledged that in a tweet yesterday (April 23), writing: “if u feel uncomfortable just know that my mother and my step dad and my 2 sisters and my 4 brothers have all probably watched this too ahahakillmeehehe.”

Meanwhile, Emilia Clarke has spoken out about another aspect of Sunday’s episode. ‘A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms’ saw Jon Snow (Kit Harington) tell Clarke’s Daenerys Targaryen the truth about his parentage, revealing that they are closely related. Daenerys responded by questioning the true validity of Jon’s information, before suggesting that it could lead to a future conflict between the two close characters.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Clarke defended her character’s response, explaining “the related thing, to her, is so normal.”

“She could have easily married her brother. It’s not a thing,” she said. “It’s a thing for Jon, but let’s just forget about that. The main thing is we’re up for the same promotion and I’ve been working for it for my entire existence.”

The latest episode of the show also saw the premiere of a new Florence + The Machine song, called ‘Jenny Of Oldstones’.
