His rep confirmed the country star's unfortunate Halloween costume choice.

Jason Aldean dressed in blackface for his Halloween costume this year. Last week NashvilleGab.com posted a photo of the country superstar dressed as Lil Wayne, his face smeared with brown paint. Today a rep confirms to Associated Press that Jason dressed as the rapper for Halloween but didn't elaborate further. A publicist for his label Broken Bow Records declined to comment.

Jason has raised eyebrows before for embracing hip-hop, though from country purists. His No. 1 song "Dirt Road Anthem" had him spitting a rap verse about Southern ways (read: eating cornbread and biscuits), which, along with LL Cool J and Brad Paisley's "Accidental Racist," had critics wondering if country-rap would soon become a full-fledged subgenre. (Never mind that country and rap have intersected long before 2010, when "Dirt Road Anthem" was released.)

Meanwhile Lil Wayne, who joined Kid Rock on stage at the 2008 CMA Awards, has yet to comment on Jason's costume. As of November 1, he was readying a new mixtape, the sequel to his 2009 release No Ceilings.
