The Double Sonata is a deeply personal credo—a philosophy treatise in
the form of what I believe to be the first work ever composed for 2
violins and 2 pianos—that deals with the concepts of duality and growth.
Every student is first and foremost a human being, just as every human
being is, in reality, a student, often pulled in opposite directions
while learning how to reconcile macrocosmic and microcosmic forces and
how to exist in a universe governed by dualities.
