Camila Cabello matches impressive record held by Taylor Swift and Katy Perry – with the runaway success of her massive hit ‘Havana’.

The track, taken from her acclaimed solo album ‘Camila‘, was already the longest running female No.1 single since Adele‘s ‘Someone Like You’. Now, the former Fifth Harmony member is enjoying her seventh week at the top of the US pop radio charts –  tying Katy Perry, Kesha and Taylor Swift for the second longest-running chart-topper this decade.

Hailing her debut album “a strong and surprisingly confident first impression“, NME wrote: “Though there’s no obvious “darkness into light” storyline, ‘Camila’ definitely has edgier moments than the romantic ‘Havana’, which was named after the Cuban city where she was born. “You’re good at making me feel small,” she sings on ‘Something’s Gotta Give’, a strikingly direct break-up song. Stripped-down piano ballad ‘Consequences’ feels even more candid: she tells a former partner that “loving you was dumb and dark and cheap,” and says she “lost a little weight because I wasn’t eating”.

“It’s a long way from her biggest Fifth Harmony hit, ‘Work From Home’, which was basically about bunking off early to get laid.

Cabello performed the track at the MTV EMAs back in November, where she also won the Best Pop award.
