French producer premieres his dark new collaboration with rapper Virus.

As the song "La Nuit Se Lève" proves, French producer Al'Tarba and rapper Virus are not only story-tellers, but world builders too. Regardless of language, you can practically hear ghastly gargoyles coming to life, the whisper of secrets held by centuries old buildings or the mysteries unfolding in the shadows of street lamps. It's an eerie world that they've summoned through song. Crafted from a collage of samples and haunting keys, "La Nuit Se Lève" features a steady rhythm that ushers listeners further into the dark underworld the pair have created with the track.

The pair crossed paths on a host of mutual projects of other artists, which allowed Al’Tarba a glimpse at the chemistry between his beats and Virus' rapping. As he tells it, it was simple really. "We got along well, so we decided to collaborate on my new project." The new project evolved into something more than just music, but a conceptual, cinematic soundscape.

"La Nuit Se Lève" is the title track of Al’Tarba's forthcoming LP, a moody album unafraid to examine the underbelly of what lurks in the shadows and after nightfall. On the album, Virus has also written interludes that connect the songs, making a record they see as "the original soundtrack for a movie that does not exist." The song closes the album, with the lyrics bringing the darkness to life.
