We bring the WWE party to these cities that are ready to host epic celebrations!
Indianapolis, IN
Do you remember Hulk Hogan v. Sid Justice? Or how about “Macho Man” Randy Savage v. “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair fighting over the lovely Miss Elizabeth? Those two matches were the double main-event for WrestleMania 8 in 1992, which emanated from the old Hoosier Dome in Indianapolis. It was the all-time largest crowd for the dome with 62,167 people in attendance. While that’s an impressive number, Lucas Oil Stadium, which replaced the Hoosier Dome, could exceed 70,000 which is a challenge we’re sure WWE would like to take on.
Hoosier country may not be the most sexy or “cool” choice to hold an epic entertainment event, but it certainly has the resources to pull off a successful WrestleMania. Besides having already held it once, Indianapolis possesses one of the most massive and impressive sporting structures in the world with Lucas Oil Stadium. Known as “The House Peyton Manning Built,” the downtown stadium is home to the Indianapolis Colts and has hosted Super Bowl 46 in 2012, and the NCAA Final Four in 2010 and 2015. Indianapolis also serves as a nice break from the routine pick of Florida or cities like New Orleans and New York.
