The Weeknd and rapper Belly were a no-show during the May 25 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. The reason why was another guest scheduled to appear on the same episode: Donald Trump.

"For me, being Muslim and being somebody that appreciates my access here in America, I love the fact that I'm able to be here," Belly says in a statement. "To play that part in this business is a privilege and a beautiful thing. The fact that I could lose that ability through the actions of someone such as Donald Trump isn't right for me. At all."

As the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, Trump has called for a ban on Muslim immigration.

The Weeknd appears on Belly's song "Might Not," which they were set to perform on Kimmel. Jazz vocalist Gregory Porter ended up replacing them.
