Does he apologize for his behavior, though? Of course not.
At long last, Jay Z has acknowledged Lemonade's existence. During last night's Yankees game, Fat Joe and Remy Ma premiered their "All the Way Up" remix. Not only does the hip-hop mogul kick off the revamped version, but he cuts right to the chase. "You know you made it when the fact / your marriage made it is worth millions / Lemonade is a popular drink, and it still is / Survival of the littest / N----s who really up, versus n----s up in your business."
Jay Z's verse also nods to a late musical icon. "Prince left his masters where they safe and sound / We never gonna let the elevator take him down!" he raps. He is talking about how Prince's catalog is only available on his own TIDAL. But he also uses a "Let's Go Crazy" lyric to recall how Prince was found, ironically, dead on an elevator. Plus, it recalls that infamous fight between him and Solange, which Beyoncé already addressed in her "Flawless" remix: "Of course sometimes shit goes down when there's a billion dollars in that elevator."
Does Jay Z address the cheating rumors that Lemonade has perpetuated? Of course not. This verse is a victory lap, where he pats himself on the back for being a business, man. And if anything, he seems more than happy to make himself out to be the the bad guy, if it means making a billion more. Hear the remix in full at TIDAL.
