The legendary actor passed away one year ago today.

Sarah Michelle Gellar paid tribute today to Robin Williams, who passed away one year ago to the date. She shared a photo of the bench Williams sits on during Good Will Hunting, where someone also wrote one of his lines in chalk ("Sorry guys, I went to see about a girl"). Then she quotes Ralph Waldo Emerson, which ends with, "To know that one life has breathed easier because you lived here, this is to have succeeded."

Williams played Gellar's father in CBS sitcom The Crazy Ones. Shortly after he died of suicide, the actress described him as "the father I had always dreamed of having." CBS was just as kind in an official statement: "We will remember Robin Williams as one of the unique talents of his time who was loved by many, but also as a kind, caring soul, who treated his colleagues and co-workers with great affection and respect."
