Good luck hearing him over the crowd, though.

Nick Jonas tried covering OMI's "Cheerleader" last night during his Live in Concert tour. Before he could get a word in, though, his crowd at the Dominican Republic had already started singing the lyrics. This isn't surprising. Over the past three years, OMI's laidback reggae ballad has grown from a regional hit in his native Jamaica, to a tropical house hit via Felix Jaehn's remix that broke streaming records in France, to the No. 1 hit ruling the United States this summer. But even Nick, who is no stranger to global pop success (hello, Jonas Brothers), acted surprised by the crowd's enthusiasm—how people sang louder than him throughout, so that he didn't have to ask them once to make some noise.
