"We'll meet again, friends."

One of the coolest characters in the Star Wars galaxy is also one whose backstory we know little of: The Mandalorian warrior/infamous bounty hunter Boba Fett. We first saw Fett in The Empire Strikes Back, where he's collecting a bounty on Han Solo for Darth Vader. The character returned in Return of the Jedi alongside Jabba the Huttbut that's pretty much all we saw of him in the original trilogy (...no, we're not counting the non-canonical expanded universe here). In the prequel trilogy, we learned that Fett was a child clone Jango Fett decided to raise as his son. Jango is later decapitated by Mace Windu.

The Wrap is reporting that the next Star Wars anthology film—out in 2018—will star Boba Fett and his origin story. In the yet-to-be-named movie, we'll finally get to learn more about Fett's background that led him to take on work from some of the galaxy's most notorious characters.

Disney/Lucasfilm's first standalone anthology movie, Star Wars: Rogue One, will star Felicity Jones and bring us the tale of rebel spies on a mission to uncover the plans for the Death Star. Rogue One currently has a December 2015 release date.
