Sounds Like"Possibly one of the most promising new bands...this Middletown, Ohio quintet brings a little bit of everything. Intense vocals...inspired lyrics that are empowering, and a big modern rock sound that will have you addicted after just one listen. July For Kings are ready for the main spotlight, make no mistake about it." -AlternativeAddiction.com

"[Nostalgia] is a reminder of why national labels would be attracted to these guys. It features the band's driving, hard-edged melodic rock with Hedges lyrics that again sparkle'" -Rick Bird, Cincinnati Post

"Leader Joe Hedges is without a doubt a passionate singer...with a gift for memorable hooks and anthemic, arena-rock-ready choruses." -Don Thrasher, The Dayton Daily News Dayton, OH

HISTORY

July For Kings (JFK for short) is a rock band from the Cincinnati Ohio area comprised of singer/songwriter Joe Hedges, cellist and guitarist T Miller, and drummer Dan McQuinn. In 2002 July For Kings released their debut album SWIM on MCA Records. The first single "Normal Life" received airplay on stations all of the US including 1 most requested on Las Vegas KMBX.

In 2005 July For Kings released the seven-song follow-up Nostalgia showcasing Hedges' unique songwriting and T Miller's cello work. In its first week Nostalgia was the 1 most purchased album at CDbaby.com, the largest online retailer of independent music in the world. This album is still for sale at CDbaby. Please click the Nostalgia CD to get your copy now or post a review:

get nostalgia now!

In 2007 Joe Hedges released his solo debut Curvature, "a cross between Sting's atmospheric Jazz/Rock, The Samples' Folk/Jam/Pop vibe and Radiohead's sonic texturalism." (CityBeat Magazine, Cincinnati). Visit myspace.com/joehedges or joehedges.com to learn more.

* please note we can't put songs from our SWIM album on myspace. sorry! every time we do, we get flagged by Universal (our former parent label) for copyright infringement. even though we own most of the rights to the songs, they own those recordings. yeah, suck-o.

We have some friends.

Open House
Cheap drinks, giveaways, and other tokens of appreciation from Dirty Jacks
Learn how to earn more money for your band!
7:00 pm
No Cover! Bring your guitars for acoustic open jam

Dirty Jack’s is committed to making sure that you earn the money you deserve. We are capable of paying you more as a local band than any other venue you are currently working in the Greater Cincinnati, but we all need to work together to do it! This event was created to hear what we have to offer you and for you to offer up your suggestions and give us your feedback. We hope to plan more events similar to this on a regular basis.

This night is dedicated to the great musicians of our fair town and we offer you a chance to come in, drink cheap, interact with your local music community and see our club with no cover if you have not had the opportunity.

Dirty Jack’s is located at 5912 Vine St. in Elmwood Place, right in the middle of the 275 loop and 1 mile north of the P&G Ivorydale plant (St. Bernard Soap Company). Street parking is available as well as in the municipal lot located at the northwest corner of the club at Linden and Vine.

Please visit our website at www.dirtyjackscincy.com for more detailed maps and for more information on the club. Please email us at outrageousproductions@gmail.com if you have any other questions that you would like us to address.

This event is for bands only and not opens to the general public. Those planning to attend can RSVP at outrageousproductions@gmail.com.

It has now been a month since I've seen you. I'm starting to have withdrawal issues. Looking at the schedule, Nov. 15 at the HiFi is right after my birthday. Maybe I'll have to make another trip to Cleveland...although, Cincy would be closer. Who knows when I'll show up. Take care.

Aug 9 2008 6:25 PM

Totally enjoyed seeing you guys last night at The HiFi. The drive was totally worth it...getting home at 8:30 this morning is another story though (j/k. I stopped and slept for a while). Please tell T that if I don't make it Friday that I wish him all the luck and happiness in the world...that, and that the offer to loan him the 13-yr-old girl still stands (hopefully he'll remember what I'm talking about. ha ha).

Until next time...take care!
Ziggy
