Denmark is the best country in the world, according to new edition of the The Social and Moral Index. New entries into the Top 10 include the Netherlands, Switzerland, Ireland and the UK. These have knocked out Iceland, New Zealand, Luxembourg and Australia.

Several new criteria have been added, including: prevalence of modern slavery, academic journal output, nobel prizes, peacekeeping troops sent, UN and WHO funding, lowest arms exports, refugees, UN treaties signed, Fairtrade engagement, international development and food aid given.
