THE WORD IS: Jesus told Martha, You are careful and troubled about many things: but one thing is needful: and Mary has chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.  Luke 10:41-42

THE POINT IS:  “Oh no, not again!” It seems like there’s always something: financial problems, marital conflicts, difficulties with children, faulty products, accidents, etc.  And no one is exempt! Thus, Jesus lovingly pointed out that Martha was letting too many things get to her. Furthermore, it was taking its toll on her: causing her to become anxious, worried, and distressed. We are still doing the same thing today. However, there is no need to get all hot and bothered and become overwhelmed. Jesus offers a simple solution. He made it clear that only one thing is needful. He referred to

THE WORD IS: Jesus said, Oh you of little faith, why do you reason among yourselves? Matthew 16:8
THE POINT IS:  Faith is vital to a meaningful relationship with the Lord. Yet, all too often, our faith is diminished and therefore our relationship is adversely affected. How does this happen? Well, Jesus gave us one explanation right here. The disciples were so busy trying to analyze with their natural thought processes what Jesus had said that they were unable to comprehend what He actually meant. According to Jesus, our faith is diminished (little faith) when we try to figure things out (reason). THE WORD IS: But of Him are you in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That according as it is written, he that glories, let him glory in the Lord.  1 Corinthians 1:30-31
THE POINT IS:  When you receive the Lord Jesus Christ, God places you into Christ.  So once you are “in Christ,” you are “of God.”  This simply means that your new life is derived from God as the source.  God is the one that has made you who you are as a new person in Christ.  Since you are in Christ, your life has been united with Him in a vital union.  Thus, Christ has become your wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption.  And that’s only the beginning!
THE APPLICATION IS:   You’ve got it made! God has made you new where it counts, on the

THE WORD IS: Put on the new man, which after God is created in righteous and true holiness. Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth . . . .  Ephesians 4:24-25a
THE POINT IS:  When you receive the Lord Jesus Christ into your life, you become a brand new person. God makes you a new creation “in Christ.”  What is the distinctive of this new person? Well, for starters, you have been recreated in God’s likeness. What is God like?  Among other things, He is righteous and holy. In fact, He is the source of all true holiness and righteousness. Putting on the new man involves tapping into the Source of life in Christ so that His life in you can flow through you.
THE APPLICATION IS:   Since God has recreated you in His likeness through Jesus Christ that makes you Christ-like. You bear
