The most frequent question I get is “what is agape?” Of course, in one sense I wrote the book “The Seven Steps of Agape Prayer” to answer that question and to show how agape helps us. But most recently, when a clerk in a book store asked me, I gave too quick and simple an answer, “In the Bible ‘agape’ is translated from Greek into English with the word ‘love.’”But that simple answer leaves out so much of the depth of meaning, that it’s not a good answer at all. The spiritual power called ‘agape’ is so much more that there really is no word in English that can give an adequate translation.On my website, “AgapePrayer.net,” I give these brief explanations:Every one of us has a way to create a life filled with joy, meaning, and peace.
