Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, the Senator representing Lagos West, has sort the Federal Government to make public, the report of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo-led committee.
Following public opinion he made the call that the dismissal of Lawal and Oke was not just enough, if the government must prove how impartial it is in its anti-corruption movement.
He said truly this is a welcome development initiated by President Muhammadu Buhari, especially the dismissal following the committee’s report.
He further said:
“There is the need for Nigerians to await and see what was contained in the committee’s report. We do not know yet if the recommendations were that Lawal and Oke should only be sacked from their various positions, without recommending whether they should go for trial.”
The lawmaker said the burden of proof is now on the government to make the report public, “which of course would add to the credibility of the administration’s ongoing war against corruption. As this will also save the image of the administration against its alleged one-sided war against corruption.
It was not only expedient that Lawal and Oke were removed, but that Nigerians would not take anything less other than their facing trial. The Chairman, Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders, (CACOL), Debo Adeniran, added this.
