    Makayla D'Costa

‘LostInnocence’ has inspired me to challenge myself by creating realistic faces frompaper quilling. My inspiration has come from Yulia Brodskaya’s use of media, and Cherry Hood’s, use of Imagery which has allowed their artwork to captivatean audience into their concept, as their art tells a meaningful story as eachpiece displays itself.
These artists had challenged my use of time managementto organise and present this art piece using detailed elements of sharp line, contrasting colour, tone, and the use of reflecting light throughout thePerspex box to express my aesthetic qualities in my art piece. Making me thinkoutside the box and express my creativity at a much greater level, presenting astrong message of Adolescence; as the innocence and imagination (Projection)within a child can be lost through the stage of adolescence. As they leave theworld of childhood and enter the world of reality (Perspex box) and adulthoodlosing their youth as they start to grow older.
