MY TAKE ON MOVIE "12 YEARS AS A SLAVE." Such movies are made to serve as reminders, pacifiers and to keep (us) in our places. :-( if you get my drift.. How some movies about Nat Turner, or Harriet Tubman life struggle & etc. Why always those where we're being dehumanized. (?) We need movies that'll instill pride in our young people and enlighten them about our heroes & she-ros. (examples, see memoirs photos) And we wonder why there's so much self-hatred amongst our young people. & Btw, the freedom we now enjoy, wasn't FREE. Others fought & died for it. And the lease we can do is acknowledge them. :-( Many of us would like to leave a theater with a sense of pride, rather then in tears, and feeling depressed. :-(
