  • Yesterday afternoon when I put water in my corn meal pot in order to make bait, I found a hole in the bottom and put the pot in the recycling bin. Brother Joe said that when I leave the pot in the sink, electrolysis causes a hole to form in the bottom of the pot. I used a much bigger pot and my bait is twice as big now. It should last much longer. 12 fishermen were at Robert G. Martin Lake yesterday evening. That's the most that I ever saw there. A kid came over to my spot and asked if it's okay for him to fish in my spot. I said "no" and he went to the other side of the lake. I went 14 for 22 with my old and new homemade corn meal bait, landing 7 common carp, 3 bluegills, 2 brown bullheads and 2 feral goldfish without chum. I threw out a can of corn when I left. The goldfish had red marks, probably spawning injuries. On my last cast for the day, I snagged a snapping turtle in the tail. I reeled it in and it was snapping and turning quickly. After it made a long run, it broke my line and stole my hook.
