I recently published my first historic-fiction book, Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory:  Civil War Horse Perspective 1861-1865. My character's journey will parallel that of a nation`s coming-of-age story and an ending result of a truly ``united``country. My main characters symbolically represent that uniting. Mine Eyes ... is my first historic fiction in a series of seven books I am writing to highlight key U.S. wars, as seen through the eyes of an unlikely character - a horse.  This book project was my way of reconciling the Iraq War I served in.
