Going acoustic isn’t easy, but we think these artists would’ve been amazing on Unplugged.
Jamiroquai
Would it be a challenge to have a band that has its roots in funk, acid jazz and disco to go acoustic? Yes. Is it a challenge Jamiroquai would be up for? We think so!
First off, Jay Kay’s vocals are incredible. Second, the band has been known to use unique instruments, like the didgeridoo. Remembering back to Bjork’s Unplugged, with the right combination of unique sounds, any song, no matter how plugged in it originally was, can become an unplugged masterpiece.
Cake
Cake’s John McCrea has one of the most distinctive voices in all of music, and the lyrically, the band’s work is equally as unique. For these reasons, we think Cake would be a perfect fit for Unplugged. “Frank Sinatra,” “Satan Is My Motor,” and, of course, “The Distance,” would make for some amazing acoustic performances.
