We bring the WWE party to these cities that are ready to host epic celebrations!
Mexico City, Mexico
A week of tasty Mexican food, margaritas and five-star resorts isn’t that hard of a sell if WWE chooses Mexico to host WrestleMania. WWE’s presence in Mexico, however, hasn’t been as strong as many would have hoped so far. While WWE has a long and prosperous relationship with Canada, the same can’t be said with our Southern neighbor. The company has been making expansions to the South with tours and press events, but has yet to hold a major event there.
While most American wrestling fans associate Mexico with traditional Lucha Libre, or Rey Misterio Jr. or Jack Black’s Nacho Libre (geesh), the country has a deep passion and respect for the theatrics inside the ring.
The biggest and best stadium in all of Mexico to hold WWE’s major show is Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, known as football (soccer) stadium that can hold over 80,000 fans. Holding WrestleMania in Mexico is a great way for WWE to build a partnership not only with Mexico but with other Spanish speaking countries. In addition, you have to believe that WWE would love to launch their own lucha libre show on their network to go against the cult hit, Lucha Underground.
