He Likes to be in the Crowd

These days Jonas Blue doesn’t have to worry about anybody spilling their drink on his shirt or stepping on his feet in the club, since he’s all the way up there on stage. But he still remembers the rush of being in the crowd, giving in to the music and feeling this disco-lit rush. That is the inspiration behind his latest single, RAYE-assisted string-tastic banger “By Your Side.” “It happened when I was having an out of body experience at one of my gigs. I imagined myself in the crowd when that one song comes up. Like I’m there with that special someone by my side and sharing that moment to this song. It all turned into a song about someone who is always by your side.”

He Likes It Hot and Cold

“I want to play music in all kinds of environments. I hopefully will be throwing parties in Ibiza this summer at private villas. I would also love to do a party on the ski slopes.” What kind of drink does he expect us to bring to one of these private villas’s soiree? “I drink everything.”

What does he do on these long bus rides from one club to another though? “I got on the Game of Thrones bandwagon pretty late, so I binge-watched this. And also the HBO series The Night Of and Stranger Things.”

Tracy Champan’s On Board

We imagine an up-and-coming artist would go really crazy when his debut single reached the No. 1 spot in many countries. But Jonas Blue assures us it wasn’t the case when he was celebrating the success of “Fast Car” last winter. “It was more of a party I had with friends and family, ‘cause I was touring non-stop at the time. I only got a chance to properly celebrate around summer. It wasn’t too crazy.”

Tracy Champan apparently liked Jonas’ tropical spin on her 1988 hit. “She didn’t personally contact me, but we did hear from her team and they said she liked it.”
