Take a look into the lives of indie rock's favorite West Virginians.

Rozwell Kid’s home state of West Virginia can be isolating, but "it's instilled a really intense work ethic in us...it's tough to get out you just have to be committed to it and put in the time and effort" singer/ guitarist Jordan Hudkins explains. And the band has been putting that ethic to good use, touring heavily since the release of its last full length album in 2014. Hudkins estimates they've played over 200 shows in the past two years.

Though it’s been two years since Too Shabby, we should have new material to look forward to from Rozwell Kid by next year. "I got to go across the globe, and just coming off of this last tour that was such a positive experience. I'm excited for those vibes to manifest themselves in the [new] music," Hudkins says eagerly.

On the last date of their most recent tour opening for PUP, Myspace met up with Rozwell Kid to get to know all of the members better.

Song or band that inspired you to be a musician: the earliest I remember loving anything specific, it was either my 8-track copy of "Little Criminals" by Randy Newman or a video cassette my dad taped for me: R.E.M.'s MTV Unplugged ... I also remember dancing and singing along to the California Raisins videos.
Favorite track to play live: the blues... sometimes we play the blues.
Best show you've ever played: I think I have yet to play that show... it’s gonna be sick.
Best show you've ever seen: The Simpsons, dude.
Favorite venue from this tour: too many / all good, each was different. I enjoy the diversity.

Especially, Gretchen and Chris Lively's buttermilk blueberry pancakes in Portland, or Bear’s (from Mannequin Pussy) extremely patented secret recipe; one of a kind buffalo shredded chicken & cheese chip dip in Philadelphia.

Age: 30
Instrument

Song or band that inspired you to be a musician: Weird Al Yankovic, Green Day, Weezer
Favorite track to play live: “Halloween 3.5” probably... or a red hot blues jam.
Best show you've ever played: FEST 14 was bonkers. Camp Daze 2016 in Missoula was bonkers. Our show in Turin, Italy with the Hotelier was the first time in Europe that the crowd was singing and shouting the lyrics along with us, and that blew my mind. I'll remember that forever.
Best show you've ever seen: Pixies at the Denver Riot Fest 2015 under a supermoon was pretty legit. Iggy Pop also destroyed it at the same festival. He flipped us off on the sidestage. He also said "I could die at any minute, I fuckin' need this" which is some of my favorite stage banter I've ever heard.
Favorite venue from this tour: The basement community arts center in Missoula, MT we played for the Camp Daze festival
Favorite road snack/fuel: Salsa Verde Doritos (the BEST Dorito) and coffee. Salt and Vinegar chips are always a reliable go-to.
