Rebecca Ramos' indie-pop solo project showcases a kaleidescope of genres.

I, The Victor is Atlanta resident Rebecca Ramos’ indie-pop project—one that showcases her powerful voice, spoken word skill and pop hooks. It’s a sound that has fans following her around the country, and has led her to open for bands such as Set It Off, Copeland and SayWeCanFly. “Searching For You” is from the EP Pause. The EP, Ramos says, is ultimately a story about searching. “Ultimately I was writing this EP and looking for answers to a lot of big questions in my life; questions about purpose. ‘Searching For You’ introduces the album and that train of thought. I like to not get too in detail on what exactly those questions are for me, so it can be interpreted to mean anything it needs to for someone else."

In the same way, Ramos says, she chose the name I, The Victor as a “reminder to see these songs and the heavy things I'm writing about through a positive lens.” Her music, after all, grapples some loaded questions and could come across in a darker or more defeated manner, she explains. “I like to juxtapose that uncertainty with a sense of confidence and make sure it's presented in a positive scope since that is message I'm trying to put out into world staying positive.”
