“I have to say that I felt that George’s group of six films had more innovative visual imagination."

Nothing wrong with a little constructive criticism, right? At least that's what director James Cameron felt when he revealed his thoughts of J.J. Abrams' latest installment of Star Wars.

While he gave props for the effort, the Avatar director felt that George Lucas (who he points out is his friend) was more visually creative in the previous movies.

“I have to say that I felt that George’s group of six films had more innovative visual imagination, and this film was more a retrenchment to things you had seen before and characters you had seen before,” he said in an interview with YouTuber Keely Stinner.

He also added, "It took a few baby steps forward with new characters. So, for me, the jury is out. I want to see where they go with it."
