She actually wasn't throwing Taylor shade (or so she says).
After the Internet exploded over new beef between Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift over Tay's huge donation to Kesha recently, the "Cool for the Summer" singer clarified her online rant and admitted that she actually wasn't criticizing Taylor.
She posted her explanation on Instagram Monday night (February 22) and revealed that she tends to get overly hyped when she's passionate about a topic—so much so that her initial message gets lost in the shuffle. She went on to explain that the point of words are to draw everyone's focus on the fact that abuse victims need to come forward and that women should support each other.
"Our focus should be on the topic of victims of sexual and physical abuse being afraid to come forward with their stories. They're more likely to face retaliation and harassment than to see justice being served. Especially women," she wrote on the IG post.
