LA-based LANY could be called pop, alternative, rock....or you could just call them great. The quartet has only been together for about two years, but in that short span of time, they’ve accomplished a lot, and few bands that have smart pop sensibilities are doing better right now. The group has benefitted enormously from Spotify’s Discover Weekly playlist, and in fact, they were recently named the most popular up-and-coming act to appear on the listing, which promotes new artists to millions around the world. As a result of catching the ear of some people at the Swedish streaming service, their single “ILYSB” has racked up almost 30 million plays (and counting).
