You might be surprised by who once roamed the halls of Canada's famous fictional high school.
As we all know, Drake didn’t really start from the bottom, he started on Degrassi, but “Started from Degrassi, now we’re here” isn’t nearly as catchy as they lyric he went with, so we’ll forgive the former wheelchair Jimmy for the exaggeration.
Drake, however, isn’t the only person who “started from Degrassi.” The following 13 notable names were also on the long-running Canadian teen melodrama.
Nina Dobrev
Where you know her from: Dobrev vaulted onto the A-list thanks to her role as Elena Gilbert on The Vampire Diaries. Come 2017 she’ll be seen on the big screen in xXx: Return of Xander Cage (aka xXx: Reactivated) alongside Vin Diesel, Samuel L. Jackson, Tony Jaa, Donnie Yen, and Ruby Rose.
Her role on Degrassi: Teen mom Mia, who arrived at Degrassi with a daughter, and would eventually leave the school for a burgeoning modeling career.
