The actor has been hinting at a return to music for some time.

Will Smith appeared on last night's episode of The Late Show With David Letterman. Upon hearing Paul Shaffer and the rest of the house band play 1998 hit "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It" (which samples the 1979 Sister Sledge song "He's the Greatest Dancer"), Smith decided to grab Shaffer's mic and throw down a few verses for the audience. Watch below.

The musician-turned-actor has been dropping hints lately that he's recording some new music—namely with his son, Jaden, and Kanye West—but it's been a decade since his last album, 2005's Lost and Found.

“I went into the studio with Kanye. I’m thinking about it. I’m exploring,” Smith shared during a recent London screening for his new film Focus. “I’m not sure what I’m going to do yet but I’m exploring. I’m in a creative ceiling.”
