Gwenyth Paltrow lends her vocals to the new tune.

Chris Martin and Gwenyth Paltrow may be exes, but that don't mean they can't sing together, right? As Gwenyth cleverly penned in "Conscious Uncoupling" when they announced their split in March 2014, she and Chris might not be together but they can still be in each other's spaces. And apparently that goes the same for each other's careers.

Premiering over the weekend on Zane Lowe's Beats 1, the piano-driven track is melodic, sweet and pretty zen—as much of Coldplay's music is. However if you listen to the faint yet eerie vocals in the background, those are Gwenyth's. Fine, she doesn't have her own verse, but it's pretty cool to know that she's on a Coldplay track, no?

“I was in the ocean one day with this surfer guy, who spoke just like you’d imagine a surfer guy to speak,” Chris told Zane about the song. “This guy spoke like Sean Penn’s character from Fast Times at Ridgemont High. He was like, ‘Yo dude, I was doing this thing the other day man, it gave me this total everglow!’ I was like, ‘What an amazing word.'”

He also added, “Then the song came completely out. To me, it’s about—whether it’s a loved one or a situation or a friend or a relationship that’s finished or someone’s passed away—I was really thinking about, after you’ve been through the sadness of something, you also get this everglow. That’s what it’s about.”

"Everglow" is off Coldplay's upcoming (rumored final) album A Head Full of Dreams, which drops on December 4. You can hear the full track and interview below.
