The Maybach Music Group label honcho is all, "Hello, it's me."

Rick Ross has remixed Adele's vibe, as he puts it. Today he debuted his remix of the 25 singer's "Hello," her first single in three years. And like the beloved singer herself, Rick Ross mourns his past: how his mother tried to provide for him, how he felt out of place at the Grammys, and how the black market was the only option to guarantee a future ("Poverty line hangin' lower than my pants"). It's yet another example of how the Maybach Music Group label honcho writes these verses with writerly details (see also: his remix of Lorde's "Royals"), as if to suggest that he's led a storied life—never mind that he takes his name from the famed drug kingpin who now sells t-shirts that say "THE REAL RICK ROSS IS NOT A RAPPER." Listen to the unofficial remix here and revisit the original below.
