  • Featured Artist :- From an idea suggested by Nigel, we are going to develop
“Featured Artist” events. These will be an otherwise normal evening, but
with a “Featured Artist” having a longer session (approximately half an
hour) towards the end of the evening. Mainly sourced from local
artists, we envisage that there will be about one a month. These will be
posted as “events” on the AW Facebook page.www.facebook.com/pages/Acoustic-warehouse-devon/108671222622739 To start us off we
have Bob Matthews on Monday 23th June (Bob will be supporting our Paul
Downes concert on Sunday 13th July 2014) and Graham Butterfield on Monday 7th July and later on in the year we have Cross Border (date to be confirmed)

  • We are delighted to have Phil Beer start our
concert year of 2014 off with a bang on Sunday 2nd Feb 2014 :-)
Phil is one of the most popular ambassadors for acoustic roots
music. A dazzling instrumentalist, he is perhaps best known for his
collaboration with Steve Knightly as the duo Show of Hands and plays in the
    all-star line-up, Feast of Fiddles.

As Phil has many other musical commitments his solo
performances are becoming an increasingly rare treat. Definitely not a concert
    to be missed.
As most of you realize Acoustic Warehouse is a small intimate
venue of a maximum number of 60 people, so book early to avoid disappointment.
Tickets £10 available on any Acoustic Warehouse Monday club night, or email accoustic.warehouse@gmail.com

  • Some questions we’ve been asked Why don’t you allow unaccompanied singers / karaoke?
Most music venues have a direction that they wish to pursue,e.g. traditional, country dance music, light opera etc. The Acoustic Warehouse, as the name may suggest, is a venue intended for contemporary musicians.
The amplified “open-mic” stage lends it’s self to musicians who are singer-songwriters, who want to work with other musicians and are keen to try
out new ideas. Unaccompanied singers in general don’t avail themselves of the PA equipment and are well catered for in local clubs and pubs.
Why do you have an MC (Master of Ceremonies)
MC’s are a bit like estate agents, nobody really likes them, but the situation without them is far, far, worse.
Someone has to take charge of the situation, make sure everyone is fairly treated, and keep a close eye on the available time. In the vary rare occasions where an artist goes of the rails (e.g. singing a song
that’s already been performed) then the MC has to take action.
