Once a ska band called Dr Jamar Presents Young Bison and the Trouser Fish as Hurry Up Fatty, we shortened our name to its more simple (and easier to remember) moniker after a series of freak accidents involving the Indianapolis 500, peanut butter, and hot air balloons tragically took the lives of our drummer, tenor saxophonist, trumpet player, and cellist. The sound of the band took on a more mellow, somber tone, and that's what you hear today. Only the occasional trombone and clave part remains of the fun-loving and care-free band that was DJPYBatTFaHUF.
Sean started playing guitar and writing songs in the summer of 2005, and Ian (who he was living with) started giving him a lesson every once in a while, and recording the tunes he'd written.
Eventually, Scott came in to play some mandolin, and then started playing drums.
Brian came to play some violin a few weeks later.
Bryan (the one who isn't Hardcore) finally came back (he had been working with Sean and Ian before the band was called Young Bison), and now we have not only another member of the band, but two who's names sound the same. Great. (Kidding, we love you Bryan)
Nothing ever seems finished, and new songs are constantly started. We love the music we're making, and that's that. Maybe some of these songs will eventually be released on an EP or LP or something. Who knows what the future holds? Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? THE SHADOW KNOWS.
