Hey Yogi, thanks for checking in! I'm in limbo; the tour I was on has been cut short by an accident (see pics) and I don't know what I'm going to do for $$ yet.
Why does everyone seem to expect musicians to give away their art for FREE? 1. All those frustrating years of beginner music lessons... 2. Then, music theory classes at the College Conservatory 3. Advanced, independent study with talented, penniless guitar mentors 4. Hundreds of stages where we poured out our hearts, night after night 5. All those musical mistakes that brought us to where we are now 6. Well intentioned supporters who’d say, "If you'd only .. you'd be a big success" 7. Club owners who've said "if you guys all dressed alike, I could charge more" 8. Lonely hours driving to towns, with names you couldn’t pronounce. 9. 1,000’s of $$$ we paid for high tech musical equipment so we can be heard 10. Horrible sounds systems we’d play through, where no one could hear us. I'm telling ya'...we musicians have got to stick together. CD’s are worthless if everyone can copy them for FREE
Radio stations are loosing out to iPods. Is music a dying art form ?
