Although WMM is a "new" band in certain circles,the members have been making music for a combined 20 some odd years.Keith,Corey and Donnie most recently played with the highly successful regional giant JUGGERNAUT (Donnie for 7 years/Keith and Corey for 2 years),Prior to that Keith and Corey played in The Lazy Mary Band which enjoyed success on the "honky tonk" circuit playing 70's covers.Mitch has been playing for nearly 20 years in such acts as Fatal Aggression,Hallowbody and most recently Goliath
During this time the menbers of WMM opened for for many national and regional ats such as COC,JACKYL,LA GUNS,CROWBAR,THE MARSHALL TUCKER BAND,STUCK MOJO,SYSTEM OF A DOWN,INCUBUS,SNOT among many others...
Whiskey Mountain Machine does in itself have a purpose...a mission of sorts...TO BRING THE PARTY BACK TO ROCK MUSIC!!!!
Their songs are not crafted in the vein of the depressed teenager nor the angered 35 year old who blames his parents for everything...their songs are written with the intent of playing music that they enjoy, all the while giving the audience permission to enjoy it to without running into each other.
Thier first release "LORD HAVE MERCY" sold 600 copies in 3 weeks and recieved airplay on radio stations owned by ENTERCOM and CLEAR CHANNEL.The band has been featured on local radio shows and has played thoughout the southeast while slowly building a following as a great live band.
Thier second release "ANGELS & AMMO" is slated to be released in JAN 2008 and a full length cd yet untitled is slated for spring 2008, as well as working with the city of Spartanburg by performing at events and charities they also perform special acoustic sets from time to time.
"we believe that the party is part of the music,we dont mind drinking with our friends around camp fires writing songs,that to us is what makes it real...real music for real people.We wanna write songs that make girls shake thier asses and guys raise their glasses",frontman Keith Prince stated when asked about the process of writing songs and performing live.
The band is always willing to perform at parties,clubs,and bookstores,arenas,festivals,etc....
