Hi all,
It is with great regret and sadness that we inform you that TOPAZ Quartet will no longer be singing together.
After IES 2007 our dear Tenor~Lucy had to make the tough decision between barbershop and her studies, we feel that she made the right decision in choosing the University life and hope that this isn't the last of her barbershopping career.
Our stand in Baritone~Emma did a fantastic job at IES in Texas, but saw Tenor as her true calling and experimented with a few different Quartets to find the best blend for her fantastic voice.
This left me and our resident Mummy/lead~Emmy a bit exhausted from all the fund-raising and effort that it took to get TOPAZ ready and raring! We took a short break while travelling to Canada with our chorus to compete in the International Sweet Adelines championships where we placed an aweinspiring 18th, it was here that Emmy was approached to sing as maternity leave~Baritone for Breakthrough. After experimenting the natural blend that they all have together, it was announced last weekend that Emmy is infact now their official Baritone and will be competing with Breakthrough at Region 31 convention this May. Check them out they're FAB!!
Similarily I was then approached by three members of the Lace City Singers including TOPAZ's stand-in Baritone for IES, to sing in a Quartet with them. Again, after singing together a few times we decided to go for it, therefore Blush! will also be competing at the Region 31 convention this May.
We would just like to thank you all for your support and well wishes over the years, it really meant a lot to us! We would love you to hear and see our new Quartets, so check us out and tell us what you think!
