TootingBizarre.org Launches!

TootingBizarre.org :: a Free Netlabel

This is Tooting Bizarre's new netlabel site. You will find a browsable catalogue of releases from Tooting Bizarre bands, and other of our good friends. All of the music is FREE! Take as much as you want, but please, tell people about this site, link to it and if you like what you hear - come see the bands live.

If you want to be part of it - please contact us!

Recent News in Brief:

Todger are gigging like monsters at the moment. The recently played a triumphant show at the world famous 100 Club of Oxford Street, and have got stacks more gigs lined up. Make sure to pick up one of their limited edition T-shirts next time you see them! More info >>>

Mayors of Miyazaki are currently auditioning for a new bass player. My sources inform me that they will tour the eagerly awaited, as yet untitled new album as a three-piece, and then possibly add another guitarist later in the year.
More info >>>

Thumpermonkey have found a new drummer, Ben, and second guitarist, Rael (formally of Happy Eggs) and are busily writing new material as a four piece. The have already thrown away as much as they have written, so expect a landslide of prog in late spring/early summer! More info >>>

50ft Panda are still rocking Oxford like they booked out the whole hotel for the night, writing new tunes and (hopefully) getting ready to record again.
More info >>>

Kat Marsh has been swanning up to London by and by, playing some free shows and promoting her EP. Be sure to pick up a copy before they all go.
More info >>>

Part Rocket are currently going through a major re-shuffle after Paul and Claire left for The World Tour. The jury is still out as to who will be in the new line-up - but rumours abound. Expect to hear more in a month or so. More info >>>

Montana Pete have been tending child but should be avoiding band practices at full speed soon enough. I'd expect we'll see a gig before 2009. More info >>>

The Device recorded the first electro-acoustic improvisation of 2008, entitled "Happy New Year", and promptly went back into hibination. More info >>>

The Mergatroid have a new video on YouTube... More info >>>

The Doghouse Riley Band are scribbling upon primary school exercise books in darkened rooms writing new material to be unleashed in the summer.
More info >>>

And finally...

TootingBizarre.org : a free netlabel site is under development. The idea is to present an online, user managed catelogue of free downloads for Tooting Bizarre bands plus and many other excellent London bands. A fully announcement will be made when it is ready!

We hope to have plenty more gigs for you very soon...
Stay tuned and thanks for looking!

alreet all @ Bizarre - just wondering whether there'd be any chance of playing a gig with you guys. My mate Sammy B.C (Boyd)knows Gareth, and he said you'd be a great SouthLDN contact to make. Anyway, check out our tunes and let us know your thoughts - otherwise i'll see you in borough in July and we can have a natter then.

"When people start printing their 'Bands for 2008' lists, as they will, you can seriously ignore pretty much all of them. Spilt Milk are the band to watch. Buy this record, it honestly would be rude and downright stupid not to. " - www.bloodshedinthewoodshed.blogspot.com

be prepared

Nov 24 2007 8:43 AM

Tuesday 27th November @ The Good Ship, Kilburn

Be Prepared Presents: Picastro, BirdriB, Bleeding Heart Narrative and Alastair Brown.

Picastro
Beautiful, dark, violin lead songs from a Toronto four piece led by singer songwriter Liz Hysen. Elements of Godspeed and recent PJ Harvey. New record on Polyvinyl.

BirdriB
Shuffling beats and acoustic guitar folk-hop. Think Anticon, specifically Themselves and Subtle.

Bleeding Heart Narrative
An autumnal one man orchestra of pianos, guitars and restrained noise. A London based Eluvium or Tarental.

Alastair Brown
Acoustic tales of hope and longing, think Conor Oberst solo and acoustic. Toured the UK with Tall Firs.
£5 entry.
