Good underground American bands like Mule, Harvey Milk, the Melvins, the Cherubs, Jesus Lizard, etc. Also bands from the 70's and 80's like the Bad Seeds, Husker Du, the Stooges, Cactus, and the New York Dolls. And many old blues, country, and hillbilly artists, including Doc Watson, Mississippi Fred McDowell, R.L. Burnside, etc. Basically anyone with an original way of acknowledging how strange it is to be alive.
Throttle is a dark rock duo from Boston. We are back with a new release, "Back to the World" coming out on March 1, 2006 on Traktor 7 records.
We released our first recording, a 7" single on Reproductive records of Cambridge, MA in 1994 and our first self-titled full length cd on Tee-Pee records of NYC in 1995. We followed this release with several U.S. tours and a second full length cd, "Soul Disease" on Reproductive records in 1998. In 2000, we released a third cd, "Transporter", on Curve of the Earth records of Boston.
Throttle is John Overstreet and Daniel Coughlin. After releasing "Transporter", Throttle went on hiatus for various reasons, but we continued to stay involved in music. Daniel played drums in the band Come and later with Thalia Zedek, touring extensively in the U.S., Europe, and Australia. John worked as a sound engineer and tour manager for various bands, also touring all over the world.
In 2003, we began work on "Back to the World" recording in our rehearsal space, and eventually finishing the record in Morphine's studio, Hi-n-dry.
Be on the look-out for upcoming live shows.
Its your drummer from VA Tech down here in ATL. Glad to see you're still rocking out. I still listen to the CD you gave me back in 98. Get back to me sometime.
