About me:
Undead and Unwed. Graduated from High School as a Pink Floyd Casualty about a quarter century ago (1983). Back then I saw the movie version of The Wall 13 times in the theater; since then I got married, divorced, seen Sleepytime Gorilla Museum and faun fables several times, recently saw Winterthrall, Bonded by Blood, and Warbringer, and enjoyed RUSH 15 times, KORN 16 times, Jonathan Davis Once, TOOL 9 times, Pink Floyd 4 times, Roger Waters 4 times, dredg 7 times, incubus 6 times, Yes 4 times, the Mars Volta 3 times, King Crimson on 2 seperate occasions, laurie anderson twice, peter gabriel twice, guns and roses twice, aerosmith twice, and pearl jam and boy hits car once; the metal bands I've witnessed live in bleeding flesh include Celtic Frost, Crimson Moon, Kreator, Arsis, Opeth, Metallica, Suffocation, Behemoth, Vader, Krisiun, Decapitated, Cripple Bastards, Intestinal Strangulation, Phobia, Skinless, Slayer, Anal Blast, 88 metal bullets, Demon Sword, Gravecode Nebula, and I've seen The Obliterate Plague, Ibex Throne, Terra Noir, Yaotl Mictlan, Incendiant, Mindlock, Thunderfist, Die Monster Die, Desolate Realm, the Supersuckers, Hank III, the Melvins & The Pagan Dead too many times to count. I'm lovin' a motherlode of music from Ambient to Blackmetal. I dedicated my second book of poems ("On Mount Drone") to Brian Eno, and personally gave him a copy in the early 90s. Now I live nearby the evaporating inland sea in what used to be the northernmost portion of Aztec territory. First and foremost I am a poet expressively put here in order to help pinpoint that enigmatic region that exists between us and of which we are all more than merely parts. As far as I'm concerned, the closest clue to a creator is spelled D,N,A. We appear to be the co-creators of divinity as much as its destroyers. So long as a certain thriving diversity in this ecosystem is maintained and perpetuated, does it matter how much of it we strike down in our egotistical quests for dominance and superiority? I do not know (but it sure is getting tiresome watching the monkeys run things). Get prepared to duck 'n' cover, there's always another Shrapnelstorm developing...
Who I'd like to meet:
DEAD: Most of all I would like to meet Philip K. Dick. Also: John Lennon, William Butler Yeats, Isidore Ducasse, William Blake, Ambrose Bierce, James Joyce, Hart Crane, Mark Twain, Italo Calvino, Carl Sagan, Terence McKenna, Aldous Huxley, Robert Anton Wilson, Kurt Vonnegut, Gary Gygax, Albert Hoffman ...

ALIVE: Iggy Pop, Tom Waits, Lou Reed, Alan Moore, A.A. Attanasio, Ray Bradbury, Dax Riggs, Johnny Lydon, Samuel R. Delany, Stephen King, Rudy Rucker, Richard Linklater, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Stephen Hawking, Noam Chomsky, Daniel Pinchbeck, Bonnie Prince Billy*, Jon Davis, Munky, Fieldy, David, Brian, George A. Romero, John Skipp, a random bum, a serial killer, and an astronaut. I've already met John Shirley, Bob Dylan, John Doe, Will Oldham & Eddie Spaghetti, so I'm doin pretty good.

Thanks for the pics, good work! Great to meet you there, of course.
We're working to get back out to the coast again soon!

I also downloaded the new Slipknot single. It's okay, but not as strong a first single as, say, Duality. Gonna give it some more listens...

Yeah, you seemed pretty psyched out about the show on Sedaka. Too bad your friend couldn't make it. Hope you enjoy yourself regardless. The review I bet will be epic, with pictures too.

I didn't have much time to scan your cd shelves when I was at your place 2 weeks ago, but do you own any Bloodbath albums? Until I read an article in Decibel, I had no idea that Akerfeldt of Opeth performed with this band on some albums, including a new EP that was releaed. I'm gonna download that sucker.

Christ on a cracker! You attacked my pictures with comments!! Thank you :-)

Jun 17 2008 11:59 AM

That makes perfect sense. At least they have integrity which is more than I can say for some other classic metal bands(you know who I'm talking about).
Kyle

Jun 17 2008 10:26 AM

Or, I could just go to your page since you have it posted.

"Damnation" is good. They should've stuck with that style.

Hola Shaunito. I love your new photo, you look meaner than Hell! And we all know you're a big teddy bear. Nice try.

Jun 17 2008 8:37 AM

fuck jea man I didn't know you were going! wish I could've seen that shit, what do you think of the new drummer for Angelcorpse?
Kyle

Jun 16 2008 7:44 PM

"Damnation" is quite good, can't really understand why they decided to go for the cookie-monster style on their later stuff. It just doesn't work. This one is quite good though.
Kyle

Jun 16 2008 6:47 PM

Okay, that was much more like it. Doesn't hold a candle to TMV but much better than that other tune. Let's try more.
Kyle

Jun 16 2008 6:27 PM

Okay, let's drop a little "windowpane" and see what happens, hopefully not a bad trip.
Kyle

Jun 16 2008 6:24 PM

Nah, I don't do cookie-monster metal.

Better than Floyd, Zep and Sabbath? I don't know what they put in the water out in SLC, but stop drinking it.

I'd much sooner give Porcupine Tree a second chance. I probably will.
Kyle

Jun 16 2008 3:21 PM

I was enjoying it until it morphed into the usual cookie-monster metal BS.
Kyle

Jun 16 2008 3:06 PM

OK, "hessian peel" is about to get the smell test, BRB.

Opeth > tMV

Doubtful. I think I may have sat through them at an Ozzfest once, not sure.

Impossible, it's not named "Bedlam In Goliath". : )
