It began in the darkness of many local swill slingers, born from boredom and booze, brought into existence by a shared disdain for the music that was polluting our ears at the time. We knew that we could do better, that we could make the music we wanted to hear, and so became The Shut Up Shop, pounding out heartfelt fuzz-pop songs that intermingle the apathy, failure, confusion, and joy of our existences with tunes that keep our audience tapping their toes along.
We are united by our love of good music, good times, and finally making the music we've wanted to hear. This combination of indie-like ethos and punk rock attitude makes us, in our not-so-humble opinion, one of the most exciting bands to emerge from Northeast Texas in some time. Come to one of our shows or listen to our first CD (it's free) and you'll see why everyone in the local scene is talking about The Shut Up Shop.
We are:
Matthew on vocals and guitars
Gregory on guitars, piano, etc

ahaha. well i've come to accept the inevitable possibility that he will become a huge fan of the bars and drinking involved with these two friends of his, matt and greg (i think you know them). and i don't mind the drunk dials at all, they keep me entertained.
Well, I heard you guys wanted some promotion, and I like the sound. And blah blah support, blah blah. You get it. Someday I might even get to meet Greg and Matt, hmmm, maybe.
Good luck with your show. Unfortunately, I live in Iowa so I won't be able to make it. But if you guys ever want a show up North, I can get you one. And I'd be at that one in a heartbeat.
hmm. very understandable. well ill be getting out just as soon as possible. due to a not so nice employment rate, going to school and all that jazz would be the reason why im still here. i dont know that id ever move to texas, but i do want to visit and will one day. hopefully in the near future. iv known kenny for quit sometime now and yet have never met him....iv known him for like 3 or 4 years i think. its somethign insane like that.
and yes. you guys should really play me a show. it would be like a reunion type ordeal and just good tunes...i think it would be mucho fun.
