The Propellers were first spun in 2004 by Tom who was writing and teaching in Seattle. Songs were conceived from bouts of rain-drenched insomnia and often fueled by an infamous, government created strain of contraband from British Columbia (The Propellers neither condone or discourage use of said contraband).
The Propellers cover a wide range of themes; Lullabies for the adorable yet petulant child, Homesickness, a Rooftop Swan Song, and a Love Song of Extraterrestrial Proportions.
Tom moved back to his Rhode Island roots to form his supergroup late in 2005. Instead, he settled on a more humble and better suited melange of friends and family to help bring his songs to life. Dave, Bob, Matt, Mike, Dan and others with common monosyllabic names joined together with Tom in a noble quest to toil in Indie Rock obscurity.

It's going much better than expected though I was sick the last week so I didn't get to practice much (not being able to breathe well is not conducive to playing a large brass instrument). I am not good at improv though and so far am really only comfortable with the b flat scale so there is that too :p
Don't forget to get down to the Jam Night at the Blues Bar in Harrogate tonight (Monday). This night is getting seriously good, so if you want to try some new stuff with your band, play with other musicians or just meet up for a beer - See you down there!!

Life is good at Ashmont, except around this time of year, when they put a hat on me and think it’s funny. I suppose it’s a small price to pay for food in my belly and a roof over my head. My resolution for 2007 has to do with the restoration of my dignity. Anyway, best wishes for a happy and healthy New Year.
Hey Tom!! Thank you thank you! I've been wondering how you've been doing as well. I love your new tunes man, your band sounds awesome. Janet and I are visiting New York this weekend, so we will be pretty close by to you guys. Weird huh? Shoot me an e-mail anytime buddy. Shane
