Sounds Like
Computers and crayons and depressive Saturday-morning cartoon characters, really loud and anxious shrugging, Peter Pan tripping on the stairs and spraining his ankle, dancing vegetables, a fifteen-year-old who makes a video of himself singing a Michael Jackson song and dancing around the room and somehow some kids he goes to school with find the tape and put it on the internet and the kid has no choice but to commit suicide, Lou Barlow if he had two penises.
++++++++++++THE MATHLETES NEWEST ALBUM, $@% YOU AND YOUR COOL, IS NOW BASICALLY SOLD OUT. THERE ARE STILL A FEW COPIES AVAILABLE AT SOUND EXCHANGE HOUSTON, OR MAYBE WHEN WE PLAY LIVE. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO READ A PRESS RELEASE, THIS IS WHERE YOU CAN DO SUCH A THING.+++++++++++++

Oh weird... The Mathletes, live on PBS, looking very serious (and uncomfortable) while playing a song about a depressed, crippled unicorn who may or may not end up committing suicide. Camera angles galore! (Seriously, this was totally on PBS for some reason)
"Contrary to popular belief, we are not a children's band. Or a joke band. Any confusion there is probably mostly my fault. We aren't really even a band a lot of the time; it says the Mathletes, but it's pretty much just me, Joe Mathlete. Hi, I'm Joe Mathlete, and welcome to a MySpace band website on the internet with computers!
Modern technology has made music way too easy to make; basically, if you have a computer and some instruments (technically even just the computer will do), you can be a recording artist. Likewise, if you know some guitar or piano chords and have at least a rudimentary grasp of a language, there should be absolutely nothing stopping you from writing as many songs as you feel like. I have no idea why everybody else doesn't do this.
Though the Mathletes as they appear on record are 98% just me, when we play live it is actually a "we" most of the time. "We" didn't had anything approaching a steady lineup for, well, forever; for the last couple years every single Mathletes show has featured a different lineup. What the Mathletes lack in professionalism, we make up for in unprofessionalism. Also in rock and roll.
Okay, that should be a perfectly servicable MySpace bio. Am I famous yet?"
Hmmmm. I don't think it was me. I've retraced my footsteps and I don't think I was in the Montrose on July 3rd, however I could be forgetting something. Or maybe it was after I had all of those margaritas at Tapatia, actually I'm joking, I did not go to Tapatia either. BUT, my sunglasses ARE missing....
And Joe Mathlete, I think if you were to die right now you'd go to heaven solely because of track 9 of the new album. I don't know what it's called, but it's amazing.
Come do a show in Chesapeake, I'm building you a fanbase.
I do like the bologna sandwich. It's a nice touch. :]
Interscope seems like it's really mainstream. Rihanna and Pussycat Dolls, and such. I'll see if I can contact Merge, hopefully send them an email. Wish me luck. :D
