Sleek, sexy, thoroughly unique, and undeniably rock, N.E. Pennsylvania based rock sextet The Drama Club has been creating a spectacle that is nothing short of drama!
The Drama Club’s lead singer and primary composer Nick Coyle is widely acknowledged as one gifted “angelic” vocalist and has inspired many songwriters. The Drama Club is no stranger to the challenges and triumphs of building a musical career, various members have been involved with successful label/touring projects. In 2005, Coyle teamed up with guitarist/vocalist Nate Bevan (formerly of hardcore band Stalemate), but just recently finalized the line-up after going through various member commotions. The band finalized members after picking key players out of the regions best bands to form this “super group”.
Producer Rob Caggiano, famous for his work with Anthrax/Jesse Malin heard some of the bands early demos and immediately flew out to Pennsylvania to see the band live and eventually produce the band along with Jay Baumgardner (Evanescence/Papa Roach/Godsmack) mixing the records.
An exceptional live band, The Drama Club stand among the top “draws” in their region and have become increasingly more popular after continuous regional touring and being a promotional machine for themselves. The result is shows that regularly sell out, a web site that gets hundreds of hits a week, and a dedicated fan base. All of this DIY promotion started the enormous word-of-mouth phenomenon on The Drama Club.
Over the past year the band has shared the stage numerous times with hometown friends/former bandmates Breaking Benjamin, as well as with Velvet Revolver, Hoobastank, Flyleaf, Silvertide, and many others including a 30 date N.E. tour which included a stop at the Warped tour in their hometown. The band has been featured many times on their hometown radio stations 97X, and WZZO, as well as Metal Edge Magazine (June 2007), Purevolume.com, Puregrainaudio.com, Origivation, and other regional press. “The Drama Club is one of the most requested bands we play on 97.9X "Underground", amazing music and very dynamic captivating frontman - Zoey 97X (WBSX, Scranton, PA).
With music that defies categorization and innate pop instincts, The Drama Club have been writing songs they describe as “boundless” and “timeless”. The Drama Club find inspiration from a wide range of sounds from the 60’s to the present. "From the very beginning, we had always had a vision of what we wanted," Coyle says. "anthemic”, “ethereal”, pretentious, spectacle – We want to have songs and a show that many generations of people can get into.” The Drama Club’s love for big chorus rock songs comes through on everything from the pop rock favorite “Company For The Lonely” the straight ahead rocker “November”, to the ballad “Brand New Day”.
Now, all of the hard work and the years of hoping and dreaming are ready to pay off. Hardened by tough breaks and lineup changes have made the “drama” well worth the trip.
Feeling, Passion, Commotion, Intoxication, Spectacle - Welcome to The Drama Club!
