Sydney based 5 piece band, The Corps, play original hard-edged rock & roll. From the influences of bands like Motorhead, Rose Tattoo, and Condemned 84 comes an Oi! sound, yet heavier and laced with slide-guitar. Founded in 2004, The Corps has pursued an Aussie tradition of no-bullshit rock & roll which has created a growing cult following both locally & abroad. There has been a few line-up changes over the years with the departure of the original bassist and two slide/lead players, but the band continues to pound out hard as nails Oi!-influenced pub rock with a line-up that has never been better.
With two EPs under their belts (originally self-released, but re-released on one disc by Scampkid Records), and a full-length album out on Dutch label Rebellion Records, the band is set to record again in April 2008 before heading to Brisbane, and then Europe. Raging pissed, raise your glass, raise your fists and lets kick some arse.
Another great punk rock lineup @ the lewisham. It sees folk punkers, JACK FLASH from QLD hit Sydney as part of their East Coast tour. The band combine traditonal folk with a cutting edge punk rock sound! The night also features ska-punkers Steppin Razor, SKA-CORE from Wollongong THROWAWAY KIDS, and Sydneys BITE THE KURB and DOIN IT FOR THE MONEY! A great show and even better way to kick off your weekend!

Each month approximately 200 Australian children die suddenly and unexpectedly from causes such as stillbirth, neonatal death, SIDS, a fast onset illness, drowning, poisoning, fire or motor vehicle accident. More than 60 people are affected by the death of a child. SIDS and Kids programs are offered free of charge to all family members and friends who need support.
SIDS and kids main fundraiser is RED NOSE DAY which is held on 27th JUNE each year. SIDS and Kids is an international leader in the field of health promotion, dedicated to the elimination of sudden and unexpected infant death.
For the entire month of June there are various place you can go and dontate money to support this very worthy cause.
