About me:
Our story begins at Goetz Middle School in seventh grade when Tony Perriello had just moved to Jackson, New Jersey and met Justin Schilling during sewing class. They quickly became friends after learning they had many common interests most 13 year olds usually have like AOL role-playing and engaging in globalthermonuclear war during health class, pretending their hands were nukes and their desks were major cities.
Obviously, they were very popular and had flourishing social lives.
Fast forward to their junior year in Jackson Memorial High School. One night out of sheer boredom, Tony and Justin decided to make a series of very silly audio skits. They were saved and kept for personal amusement, but looked upon as nothing more.
Then one day in the lunch room, Justin and Tony ran into a strapping young lad by the name of Rob Migliore. Rob also happened to be in Justin's chemistry class.
One day, Justin and Tony were on the phone when Rob sent Justin an animated comic he made. It was called "Jackson High School Frenzy" and chronicled their misadventures during chemistry. Justin watched it and proceeded to shit his pants. Then he sent it to Tony who then also proceeded to shit his pants. Justin and Tony were now inspired and full of shit, and went on to make several more comics. They were circulated around to close friends and family and were a big hit.
Though the guys didn't realize it at the time, these comics and audio skits were the starting flow of the creative juices.
In May of Junior year, the first annual Central Jersey Student Film Festival was to be held in none other than Jackson Memorial High School itself. Rob quickly approached Tony with plans to make a movie for the festival, and the two began brainstorming.
Then, an idea hit Tony.
"Why don't we do something where we plan to steal the World of Warcraft beta?"
To which Rob responded:
"Tony. If you were a girl, I'd totally date you."
True story.
So the three made the film entitled "The Quest for the Beta", but unfortunately it was cut from the festival. Looking back on it now, they all agree it was too focused on one particular audience (gamers, nerds, etc.). However the audience it was directed towards enjoyed it, so it wasn't a total failure.
It was pretty close though.
Nah, it sucked. It was horrible. No one should see it. Ever. To those of you who did, sorry a half hour of your life got wasted.
A year passed and no work had been done on anything. Ideas were floating about; some were shot onto film, but nothing was ever really accomplished.
Until May of next year.
The Central Jersey Student Film Festival was coming up again for its second year. Rob approached Tony with plans to do another movie. They had learned from the previous year, and with this experience and much ambition the three set forth to make "The Hookey Game". It was not only accepted into the festival, but it ended up winning Best Comedy.
A triumph indeed!
Despite their apparent success, things started getting a little stale. Tony and Justin started brainstorming many more movie ideas, but in order to execute them they realized the group needed to grow, both technically and in terms of cast.
This is when they began their quest for new members.
They needed people who would be clever, talented, dedicated, and be willing to make movies and have as much fun doing it as they were.
The first person inducted was Nick Vilardi, a member of improv group "The John Does", which Justin is also a part of. Nick jumped right in and he soon appeared in his first movie as an extra in "Two Guys and a Birthday".
Justin also had a friend who enjoyed filming and making movies named Rob Cacioppo. Justin was unable to pronounce Rob's last name properly, so he just opted to call him "Casablah".
Casablah was excited to join. He even had his own idea of a series called "Jackson Five-O", which is currently in the works.
George Oberhofer came to an improv try-out/practice one night, where he befriended Justin and Nick. Soon after Justin started attending OCC and found George was in one of his classes. Due to boredom and curiosity, George decided to tag along and help film the movie "Meet the Cast", where Superfluous Studios recognized his talent with a camera and also his presence as an actor. Within ten minutes of working on the film, he too was inducted into the group.
Now, the group already had a sausage carnival going on, so they said: "Hey! Why the hell not...let's get another guy!" But this was no ordinary homo-sapien. Sure they had a bunch of guys, but did they have any with style and class?
The answer is NOT ENOUGH
So the group inducted it's (hopefully)final male member to the groupe. The hip, sauve, spoonful of a man Jonny Jankeich. However, due to drunken times at Wildwood with Casablah and Justin, and lack of wtf they were talking about, Justin and Casablah nick named him "jonny wylde", and it's stuck ever since.
Long story short*, that's how they came to be. We absolutely love making these short films. Your support is greatly appreciated. Thank you for checking us out.
