Christopher's Interests
|
| General | Everything from fast cars to fine painting. Firearms, gardening, philosophy and mindless games. If I'm not learning something or making something, I'm thinking about something while I'm shooting Spartans (Halo). I do a lot of leather work, and have the start of a business going. I also used to do a lot of blade-smithing ,and would love to get back into that. | | Music | Nirvana, White Stripes, Everclear (for those happy days), Gogol Bordello, Glenn Case (a very good solo artist), classic rock, 90's rock, current rock, some rap.... and everything else in small samples. | | Movies | Aliens, Fight Club, Se7en, I'm a Star Wars Geek (but there are worse things), Way of the Gun (just check it out.. it's "intellegent" despite the gun-play), Legends of the Fall, All Romero Zombie flicks (and re-makes), and a $..!+ load more movies. I run the gauntlet from horror to comedy and sometimes even wander into chick-flicks. As long as I'm either entertained or made to think, I'm all good with it. | | Television | Very little, as I'm busy and mostly just rent/buy shows on DVD.
I'm currently a huge "Lost," "Battle Stat Galactica," and, "Terminator: Sarah Conner Chronicles," "House M.D.," and "Pushing Daisies" fan. I'm greatful that the major networks show their stuff for free on-line, as I won't pay for television. I love Rome, Lexx (check that one out on-line), Futurama, and The Simpsons. I'm sure that little collection will expand soon.
How are all the ads on T.V. doing? | | Books | Stephen King appears to be a living American Master-Wordsmith, so I've read most everything by him. Out of all of his works, I recommend "The Dark Tower" series, "It," "The Stand," and "Eyes of the Dragon." "Eyes of the Dragon" is the best book in existence, but that's just the opinion of one person. Check it out... I also like "A World Out of Time," by Larry Niven, and still hold "The Rats of Nimh," close to me heart. "Nothing So strange" by Wally Lamb is also an awesome book.
Sadly, I've written almost as much as I've read, and that's not a good sign--or is a great sign, who knows. I do know that when I'm old, I'll do some pretty good catch-up, so these days are for collecting the names of those I wish to enjoy for then. | | Heroes | People who don't "F" people over. I have lofty goals, so Stephen King and George Lucas are two of my favorites, as far as "success" stories go, though neither of them seem to have much going for them in the "charity" department. I hope I become my own hero and show them up ten-fold, but people are frail, and I might not live up to it. I'm most proud and enlightened by those who have little and accomplish a lot for the greater good. Despite my unease about Oprah, or Bill Gates, they are examples of peopls using their influance to do good, and for that, she is admired. Dr. Phil can go take a flying leap, however, as can Judge Judy... |

About me:
I was a young published writer still seekign his audiance... thought I must admit, I'm getting older, and haven't written in a while... but I hope that whe nI find them...I hope that they're at least a little bit crazy, act like lovers when it is time for love, like fighters when it is time to fight, and thinkers when it is time to think.
I'm here on Myspace to meet people who share my ideals, goals, and entertainment interests.
I hope that people can form some sort of picture from this limited view of my thoughts, and would love to engage in any sort of conversation that occurs, as long as it's in English, as I really don't understand anything else.
As for my current life, I work as a glazier for my families business (Eugene Mirrir and Glass, Cluver Glass of Salem, and Culver Glass, in Portland). It can be tedious, and a bit boring, but it's honest work, and the company provides jobs for people, which is what business should be about.
While I don't write very often anymore, Iv'e gotten back into crafting, and do a lot of leather work, some metal work, and various things on the side.
I'm also very into the midieval period, and spend my weekends dressed in a kilt and armour.

Stephen King, Jon Stewart, Slim Shady/a.k.a. the angry blond guy, The Angry Video Game Nerd, and George Lucas. Oh...I'd also love to meet Jesus, just to see what he thinks about how things are rolling.
