| About Steven Bacon |
Alaskan songwriter Steven Bacon is a Boston based street / subway performer (aka "busker") and touring singer-songwriter.

NEWS UPDATE!!!
On 9/20/08, Steven met Oscar & Grammy award winning songwriter/actor Glenn Hansard, star of the movie "ONCE". The two met while Steven was busking on Comm. ave in Boston, outside the Agannis Arena where Glen's band "The Swell Season" was about to play. In the middle of the concert Glen invited Steven on stage to let the crowd "hear a real busker". Steven performed his song "Charlie wants to run" before several thousand Swell Season fans and received a standing ovation. Go to Steven's photos page for pics. The full story will be coming soon....
On Saturday, September 13, 2008, Steven won First Place in the Lizard Lounge's (Cambridge, MA) songwriter "Main Event" competition. The "Main Event" brought together the winners of Tom Bianchi's weekly songwriter open mic challenges from the past 6 months to compete for the first place title (and cash prize).
Steven will be putting his winnings towards the recording of his next album, entitled "Notes from the Underground" (he's a full-time subway performer and a die hard Dostoevsky fan...)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Steven is an Alaskan singer/songwriter who has been writing and performing since 1991, playing performing arts centers, festivals, church and college auditoriums, coffee shops, songwriter showcases, and night clubs throughout Alaska, and the lower 48 states. Described as "a deep, clear, cool pool of songwriting talent; quiet grooves, soothing vocals, lyrics from out of the heartland"
Steven is currently based in Boston, MA. In the tradition of local heros Peter Mulvey and Tom Bianchi, and Gonzalo Silva, Steven is playing his original tunes for hundreds of random commuters everyday in the underground subway stations of Boston.
Steven has recently opened for Edie Carey & Michael Troy, played mandolin in 3 music videos for Vance Gilbert, toured the east coast with L.A. songwriter John Elliott, played a songwriter showcase at the legendary folk venue Club Passim, and won the Lizard Lounge Open mic competition,.
