About Me:An under-appreciated, under-loved housewife decides to move out... or rather, in... to her own pantry. In a war of wills, her husband and son must come to terms with this housewife's unorthodox decision.

DIRECTOR STATEMENT

When I first heard about Earnest's script, Secession, I thought it would be a great short. It is the story of an American civil war. But unlike our war between the states, this movie's battlefield is the home, its dividing line, the pantry door.

Its a surreal story that seems a lot more real than a lot of the news coverage Americans see today.

I liked Earnest's script because it tells the story of a family angry and ready to go to war. But instead of launching smart bombs overseas, Mrs. Harley decides to fight the people who have hurt her most, her own family.

This was a fun project to work on, from building a pantry out of bookcases to watching these talented actors transform sheets of paper into an enjoyable film. I hope you like it.

Just a note to keep in touch. Hope everything's going well.

Feel free to add PIANISSIMO as a friend!

Cheers,

We've added a playdate in OKC. In addition to playing Thursday, June 8th at 10pm, the deadCENTER Film Festival has asked us to play Saturday, June 10th at 9pm. So now there are two chances to see the movie!

Of course, we'll likely only be at the Thursday one ourselves, but I promise the movie will be just as good whether you hang with us afterwards or not.

May 9 2006 2:37 PM

You bet we're heading out to Deadcenter! We actually screen the day before you - the 8th - at 10pm.

If you come see ours we'll come see yours...

the funeral music is easy - it's one of my favorites, and as i will be dead, i want everyone to suffer...just for a while. and why not at my funeral...it will be closed casket, unless i get myself stuffed....then i'll have a friend seat me in different locations around the place. during the piece i'll be popping out with all of the really emotional moments. i hope you'll attend!
