A Los Angeles Animal Services Hearing Examiner found me to be NOT DANGEROUS. My name is Stu de la Rosa, and I am an 8 year old Lab/Staffie mix rescued by my loving and devoted owner, Jeff, from the harsh streets of South Los Angeles in 2000.
The G.M. of the Dept. overturned that recommendation, declared me "Dangerous" and sentenced me to die. That G.M., Guerdon Stuckey, was fired by the Mayor of Los Angeles within days of condemning me. Guerdon Stuckey sued the City and received a $150,000 "consulting" contract to write a report on the Animal issues in Los Angeles.
In Sept. 2006, while temporarily in a rescue, I was examined and evaluated by Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist Richard Polksy, Phd. of dogexpert.com and Dr. Polksy found me to be NOT DANGEROUS!
This is the same expert who testified in the San Francisco Dog Attack case. Because the Dept. of Animal Services would not allow this evaluation back in 2005, Jeff had no evidence to defend against the "dangerous animal" allegations. This was an illegal act on the part of LAAS and deprived Jeff of his Constitutional rights to due process of law.
Jeff appealed to the Animal Services Board of Commissioners but they would not overturn the G.M.
Jeff petitioned the Los Angeles Superior Court to get the Dept. to re-open the case. The judge, David Yaffe, denied my petition. I may be killed at any moment, and I am INNOCENT!
Now, Ed Boks, the current G.M. of Los Angeles animal services is waging a defamatory, libelous and vindictive PR war against Jeff, my owner, for being vocally critical of Boks' administration.
Ed Boks started a "rumors" page at laanimalservices.com with "Stu" at #1. His info is incorrect, sensationalist and full of lies. The woman's arm was not shredded, I did NOT try to kill Tatiana, and she is not "disfigured." I was scared and injured and she irritated my wound.
A photo of her arm 30 days after the accident is at stu.911.googlepages.com. This photo was taken AT LAAS and is public record.
I have been in impound Since September 15, 2005 and am 20 lbs. overweight, unhealthy, have been refused vet care, get no exercise and cannot interact with my loving owner, Jeff. Can you help me by writing (on paper) to the people in the blog entry above? Can you help to find a rescue that will give me a temporary home until my owner, Jeff can get me home?
Please, I want to go home.
Will you donate a few dollars to help to fund my appeal to the 2nd District Court of Appeals in Los Angeles?....
Here is a video (below) taken Sept. 2006 . This is the condition I found Stu in at the Los Angeles South L.A. "Shelter." So much for Ed Boks's statement that Stu is well cared for. Within 12 hours of me posting these videos on the web, Stu was secretly moved to Villalobos Pit Bull Rescue where he stayed for 4 months. Tia Maria Torres, the owner of VPBR dumped Stu back on the department in December 06.
Because you're a beautiful person, I wanted to send something beautiful to you. Because you always fill my world with laughter and happiness, I wanted to send something bright to you. Because our friendship is true, I wanted to send some pink roses to you. It's not much, but I hope this greeting will do. In my own special way, I just wanted to let you know that you're in my thoughts today, and I'm sending some good wishes your way.
Hi Jeff! How is Stu these days? I hope you are both doing great and TOGETHER! I wish you both a Happy Thanksgiving with lots of turkey and pumpkin pie. Give Stu a big hug for me!
We're gonna teach and learn. We're gonna get fed well. And then we shall feed! We are ancient. We are brand spanking new. We shall follow and lead. Cause we are simply you and me, In proving our traditions, On the brink of heaven and hell.
We each get a turn, And then we're forgiven. And we call it knowledge and change, And LIFE itself!
Hey Jeff, Hope you are doing well. Wishing you and Stu a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. Have you made any progress in getting Stu home? Hope to hear from you soon. Blessings. Trish
